Welding equipment financing
Welding spans two very different financing conversations. A rack of power sources is a small application-only ticket. A robotic weld cell is a capital project with fixturing, programming, and safety integration attached.
Typical ticket
$8K per power source to $600K per robotic cell
Term
24 to 72 months
Down payment
0% to 15%
Useful life
8 to 15 years, robots longer
Directional ranges, not offers. Funding runs up to 100% of equipment cost at roughly 7% to 18% APR, and your number depends on your credit, revenue, time in business, and the machine itself.
What we place
- MIG, TIG, stick, and multiprocess power sources and wire feeders
- Robotic weld cells, cobots, and positioners
- Weld fixturing, turntables, and manipulators
- Fume extraction, downdraft tables, and booths
- Laser and resistance welding systems
- Programming, safety fencing, and integration in some structures
What underwriters check on welding equipment
Ticket size sets the program
Under $25,000 the deal is credit-driven and application-only. Above $150,000 expect full financial review.
Robot brand and resale
Cells built on mainstream robot platforms retain value. Heavily custom fixturing is written down to near zero.
Labor replacement math
An unfilled welder position is a credible payback argument, and funders respond to it when documented.
Certification and code work
Shops with AWS certified procedures and code work show underwriters a durable revenue base.
How the math tends to run
| Line | Illustrative figure |
|---|---|
| Robotic weld cell with fixturing | $265,000 |
| Term | 60 months |
| Illustrative rate | 11.5% APR |
| Estimated monthly payment | about $5,850 |
| Comparison point | roughly one and a half fully burdened welder wages |
An illustration, not a quote. The cell has to run enough shifts to beat the labor it displaces.
What trips these deals up
- Fixturing is a large share of a cell's cost and holds almost no resale value, which can lower the funded amount.
- Programming and safety integration are soft costs and may need to come out of pocket.
- Small power source purchases financed one at a time stack multiple filings. Bundle them.
- Confirm your power service can carry the cell before you buy it. Electrical upgrades are rarely financed.
How placement works
Start with the Quick App or a call. We identify the right program and institution at no charge, send a tailored secure application, and the institution underwrites the file. You review offers side by side, sign directly with the institution, and funds land. Realistic timing on equipment is 5 to 15 business days.
Manufactor Finance is an independent commercial finance broker. We are not a bank, lender, or investor, and we charge no application, origination, or closing fees. We do not help with grants, grant writing, or grant applications.

Welding equipment financing questions
Yes. Cells built on mainstream robot platforms finance well because the robot itself holds resale value. Expect the funder to advance less against the custom fixturing portion, since a fixture built for one part number has almost no value to anyone else.
For a small package, yes, and application-only approval usually takes 1 to 3 days. Buy them as one bundled transaction rather than four separate small notes, which stacks filings and costs more in total documentation and fees.
Sometimes, within a soft cost cap of roughly 10% to 20% of equipment value. Robotics projects routinely carry more integration cost than that cap allows, so plan on some of it being cash.
Favorably when you document it. An open welder position you have not been able to fill for 6 months, with the overtime or outsourcing cost it created, is a concrete payback argument that supports the file.
Power sources from major brands do, though on shorter terms. Used robotic cells are more complicated, because reinstallation, reprogramming, and re-certification costs can approach the value of the equipment itself.
Say so. A signed multi-year program with a creditworthy customer behind the purchase strengthens the file. If the program is not yet awarded, funders discount it, and that is worth knowing before you sign a purchase order.
