Metal fabrication equipment financing
A fiber laser is the single largest capital decision most fab shops make, and it is also the class of equipment funders most want to finance. Strong resale, long service life, and clear throughput math make these files straightforward when the shop is stable.
Typical ticket
$40K to $1.5M per machine
Term
36 to 84 months
Down payment
0% to 10%
Useful life
10 to 20 years, lasers heavily use-dependent
Directional ranges, not offers. Funding runs up to 100% of equipment cost at roughly 7% to 18% APR, and your number depends on your credit, revenue, time in business, and the machine itself.
What we place
- Fiber and CO2 laser cutting systems, including automation towers
- CNC press brakes, tooling packages, and bending cells
- Turret punches, combination punch and laser machines
- Shears, plate rollers, angle rolls, and ironworkers
- Plasma and waterjet cutting tables
- Deburring, finishing, and material handling equipment
What underwriters check on metal fabrication equipment
Laser resale is strong
Mainstream fiber lasers hold value well, which supports longer terms and higher advance than most equipment classes.
Automation adds cost and value
Load and unload towers are financeable with the machine and raise utilization, which helps the payback argument.
Throughput replaces outsourcing
Documented outside cutting or bending spend is the cleanest justification a fab shop can present.
Facility readiness
Power, chiller capacity, and floor loading have to exist. Building work is generally not financeable with the machine.
How the math tends to run
| Line | Illustrative figure |
|---|---|
| 6kW fiber laser with automation tower | $725,000 |
| Term | 84 months |
| Illustrative rate | 9.5% APR |
| Estimated monthly payment | about $11,800 |
| Comparison point | outside cutting spend of $14,000 per month |
An illustration, not a quote. Bringing cutting in-house is the payback argument most fab shops actually run on.
What trips these deals up
- Electrical service, chiller, and compressed air upgrades usually come out of pocket.
- Assist gas supply contracts and consumables are ongoing costs the payment schedule does not cover.
- Press brake tooling is a real line item that is hard to finance separately. Bundle it on the machine invoice.
- A trade-in on your old laser is not cash until the machine actually sells.
How placement works
Start with the Quick App or a call. We identify the right program and institution at no charge, send a tailored secure application, and the institution underwrites the file. You review offers side by side, sign directly with the institution, and funds land. Realistic timing on equipment is 5 to 15 business days.
Manufactor Finance is an independent commercial finance broker. We are not a bank, lender, or investor, and we charge no application, origination, or closing fees. We do not help with grants, grant writing, or grant applications.

Metal fabrication equipment financing questions
Directionally 7% to 18% APR depending on credit, time in business, and whether the machine is new or used, on terms of 36 to 84 months. Strong shops buying a mainstream new fiber laser sit at the low end because the collateral is excellent. Newer shops and used imports sit higher.
Established shops with clean credit regularly get 100% of the equipment invoice financed with no money down. What is typically excluded is electrical service work, chiller installation, and floor preparation, so budget those as cash.
If you are buying both in the same window, yes. One transaction means one set of documentation fees, one filing, and usually better pricing than two separate notes. It also lets you bundle press brake tooling, which is difficult to finance on its own.
Press brakes, shears, and rollers hold value and finance readily well into their second decade. Used lasers are more variable, because resonator hours, source generation, and optics condition drive value far more than the machine's age alone.
5 to 15 business days is the realistic range. Application-only approvals under roughly $150,000 can come back in 2 to 3 days. Larger laser packages with automation require financial statements and a longer review.
It is harder but not disqualifying. Expect 10% to 20% down, a personal guarantee, and more weight on the work you already have booked. Financing a smaller machine first and paying it cleanly for a year makes the next approval materially easier.
